The story

Founded in 1834, it is the oldest fry shop in Palermo still trading in its original premises, on the square of the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi. It serves the classics of Palermo street cooking: panelle, crocchè, arancine, sfincione and the famous spleen sandwich. The interior retains 19th-century fittings and counters.
