The story
In front of the building where the magistrate Giovanni Falcone lived, a large ficus has been a spontaneous memorial since 23 May 1992. After the Capaci bombing, Palermitans began attaching notes, drawings, photographs and messages to it: the practice has never stopped. Every year on 23 May, thousands of students from all over Italy gather here for the commemoration.
