The story

A work by Igor Scalisi Palminteri, a Palermo artist who has made the reworking of sacred iconography his language. The mural depicts San Benedetto il Moro, son of African slaves, born at San Fratello in 1524 and later a Franciscan friar in Palermo, where he is co-patron of the city. Its placement in Ballarò, a district with a large migrant population, makes the work a precise statement.
