The story
A watchtower and defensive tower built in the 14th century beside the church of San Nicolò, in the heart of the Albergheria. About thirty metres high, it was later used as a bell tower and civic tower. Restoration in the 2000s made it accessible: from the top you look over the whole historic centre, from the Cathedral dome to the Norman Palace and out to sea.
