The story
A seafront promenade running for over a kilometre between Porta Felice and Villa Giulia. Historically the setting for the aristocratic struscio, the ritual evening promenade, it was largely reshaped after the war by filling the area with rubble from the 1943 bombings. Today it is a broad linear park with lawns, cycle paths, playing fields and kiosks, heavily used by Palermitans at weekends.
