The story
The historic market of the Loggia district, once the city's most important for fish and meat. Since the 1980s it has declined commercially: few daytime stalls remain, while in the evening Piazza Caracciolo and the surrounding alleys fill with street food kiosks, grills and bars. Renato Guttuso devoted his famous 1974 painting 'La Vucciria' to it.
