The story
A University of Palermo museum with palaeontological and geological collections of international importance: numerous holotypes, marine fossils, and material on Etna and Sicilian geology. Among the best-known pieces are remains of Sicily's endemic dwarf elephants and the skeleton of 'Thea', a woman who lived around fourteen thousand years ago. The display is of mid-20th-century design.
