The story
Founded in 1909 and named after Giuseppe Pitrè, a Palermo physician who devoted his life to collecting Sicilian customs, songs, folk tales and objects, publishing over fifty volumes. The collections include painted Sicilian carts, votive panels, puppets, nativity scenes, ceramics, costumes, tools and everyday objects. It stands beside the Palazzina Cinese in the Favorita park.
