The story
Housed in the former Oratorian convent, it holds one of Italy's most important archaeological collections: Punic, Greek, Etruscan and Roman finds from across Sicily. The key pieces are the metopes from the temples of Selinunte, the Hellenistic bronze ram of Syracuse and the Palermo Stone, a fragment of an Egyptian stele bearing the annals of Old Kingdom rulers.
