The story
Rebuilt in the 18th century to a design by Paolo Amato with an unusual elliptical plan, it belonged to an ancient Basilian monastery. Bombed in 1943 and long abandoned, it has been restored and converted into an auditorium: the oval form, the dome and the upper gallery give it remarkable acoustics, and it is now used for classical concerts.
