The story

Seat of the Company of Saint Francis, decorated by Giacomo Serpotta between 1699 and 1706 with tableaux devoted to the lives of Saint Lawrence and Saint Francis. On the altar hung Caravaggio's 'Nativity with Saints Lawrence and Francis', painted in 1609 and stolen on the night of 17-18 October 1969. Since 2015 a very high-definition photographic reproduction by Factum Arte has taken its place.
